Probably true in the case of Offa's Dyke but not in Hadrian's Wall. That was built to say "Here ends the Roman empire". Rome was overextending itself.

I would draw the line at fruit pudding (which if I remember correctly is white pudding with sultana's in it), but the "traditional" Scottish breakfast was my staple diet when I lived in Edinburgh.

Maybe doesn't sound too clever, admittedly, but who would have thought that cheese on beef would be a good combo?

Both come from cows, not a problem
Nah, I just have an aversion to dried fruit with meat - I love Moroccan tagine, but the dried apricots remain untouched on my plate.

What the hell were you doing in Edinburgh? What is the point of a sausage in square form?

Working. It was the early 80s, I was young & impressionable, the beer was cheap, the natives were friendly...
Sausage is square so it fits onto round bread rolls ... have you never eaten a Wendy's burger?

Third largest burger chain in the USA. We did have them in the UK for a while, even Cardiff, but they never caught on - I think the salad bar in a burger chain scared people away... that and the square burgers.

we don't even have Starbucks in Norway, nor have I seen and KFC; but their are plenty of MC Donalds, and Burger King, and Bagel Bunnys, and some Pizza Huts, but they are also rare, but we have a Norwegian equivlant Peppes Pizza

I have to say, I found black pudding a good deal less disgusting than white pudding on my brief visit to the merry old land of spells and fairies.

Early 80s through to the end of the 90s. However, I ate my first Wendy's in Munich (and my last in Austin, TX).

Oh, that's what that yellow slime was. Cheese... hmm... okay - you can stay independant if that's what cheese is.
