And the only slight weaknesses on the new album are potentially the lyrics (not the vocals). I need to read the lyrics really though. Some of the intros are a bit jarring but soon fade when the tunes develop.
I like the experimentation on the release and I like the two instrumental tracks too.

e to the power of i times plus one is zero Now that's a fine chorus.

Splink is tremendously awful.
The intro to Splink is a bit grating but once the slide diminishes, it develops into something awesome. I just wish they'd developed it more.
And as I said, the lyrics are the weakest element for me. I miss the old Hammill. Although there are some brief glimpses of it.

One thing that pisses me off is that that equation (e^i+1) does not equal zero.

Oh come now, Rico, surely that's better than the lyrics to Killer?
My second favourite VdGG album is masterliness through and through.
...okay, maybe Lost is a bit wobbly.
Lost is amazing.
I love Lost.
Grrr.
I love the whole album. I've just realised over time that some of his early lyrics were a tad corny at times. Now Still Life's lyrics were awesome. As were some on Pawn Hearts and Godbluff.

Doesn't he also say it's equal to -1? Or was that a different equation?
