According with Martin Robertson site, Tony Banks had written a new orchestral album in which the saxophonist will play in piece of 10 minutes long. That's the link http://www.martinrobertson.co.uk/soon.htm

That's a great link and news story, so thanks
I must get around to reviewing Banks' solo albums (so much music, so little time), because I really like them and I don't think they get the credit they deserve, especially commercially.

Yes, that's true in my case too, so much music and so little time. And agree with you about Banks credit. Hope we could listen this album soon.

No disrespect to MR, but is there any official confirmation of this?

IF the news is true, confirmed and all, it would be nice.
I like Tony's orchestral album. It's quite good.

A tie, I think, between A Curious Feeling and The Fugitive. the latter has a simply incredible piece called Charm, one of his finest compositions of all time.

Hey, that's nice. I don't often hear positive remarks about The Fugitive. "Charm" is an interesting choice for favorite track as well. It is definitely good.
My personal choice for favorite Banks album would be A Curious Feeling, but The Fugutive is my nr. 2.

Totally agree! Charm is a superb track. I always liked it. What do you think about Thursday the twelve, Stil it takes me by surprise and Island in the darkness? Waters of Lethe and You between my favourites too.

Thursday the Twelve... was a bit disappointed by it to be honest.
Still It Takes Me By Surprise... I like that one, though not the way it is sung. But a great song.
Island In The Darkness... haven't heard the Strictly Inc. album, was put off by the ugly art work. Is it good?
Waters Of Lethe is quite good. I think Banks himself thinks that too.
You... absolutely fabulous!

About Strictly inc. Not a great album, just good, but Island in the darkness is a superb epic of 17 minutes that I consider one of the best (if not the best) Tony Banks tracks. Absolutely progressive rock (IMO). Edited by genbanks - March 29 2011 at 12:43 |

Well, I must admit that even when Genesis is my absolute preferred band, and Tony Banks my all time rock musician idol, I always expect more from him in his solo efforts, so by some way I agree with you. By the way there is some stuff that fills completely my expectations, for example, as Island in the darkness.

Yes that is it. I expect much more. I mean A Curious Feeling is not a bad album.......just not enough for me. Bankstatement is horrible though.

My favourite Banks album is 'still', a very good pop album with some excellent vocalists.
However, my favourite song from his discography is this :
|
|||||||
"Magma was the very first gothic rock band" (Didier Lockwood)

3 songs with Fish on vocals : "angel face", "shortcut to somewhere", "murder of a day". Fish shines the most on "shortcut".
