No-one has mentioned the really worst yet. It is a close battle between two albums actually:

Hapshash and the Coloured Coat - Featuring the Human Host and the Heavy Metal Kids.
Amon Düül - Psychedelic Underground.

If pressed I would give the medal to the first one.

However bad the Amon Düül abum may be though, it was historically extremely important; after that album no-one needed to have an inferiority complex, and so Krautrock was born.

At least the Hapshash album featured several legitimate musicians who went on to better things (Spooky Tooth, Humble Pie, Art, Widowmaker, Mott the Hoople).  It is not a good album for sure, but the worst ever?  I'm still voting with whoever brought up the Shaggs.

BTW, the second Hapshash album had some notable moments IMHO and is worth picking up if you're a hardcore psych or contemporary folk-rock fan.

I think he has a fair point. Can those selections seriously be considered the worst albums ever?

Whether I like the albums or not is irrelevant. There are a lot of genres that are not my favourites but I would never suggest that a classic album of that genre was the worst album ever. Such honour belongs to The Saturdays or something equally tiresome.

Tool are not too complicated. They're too annoying. It does not appeal to me because I disagree with just about every artistic choice they made throughout their career.

Being a Tool fan I have to put my two cents in.
Fistly I'll have to agree that Tool is not challenging music at all. In fact it's played on the radio all the time, and they might be one of the most popular of the modern prog rock bands. As for the choices they've made in there careers I can see no faults. They started as a grunge band and they matured into what they are now, I'm not gonna hold a few radio hits against them. Tool gets a bad name because Mayrand is a really pretentious person, actually, just saying he's a jerk would probably be more fitting.

I have an album called Orgasm by Cromagnon from 1969, which consists of a bunch of guys whacked out of their minds on acid trying to perform an exorcism in the very studio they recorded in. The front singer sounds like a demented madman yelling incomprehensible things over a band on roller skates, who´s being pushed down a narrow stairway. It´s actually so bad that it´s funny, and I would never in a million years part with it.
