Both of Universal Totem Orchestra's albums could be right up your alley, especially The Magus.

new Capillary Action album is great.  feels more cohesive than the first album.  and it reminds me of Captain Beefheart more than his other work

My other musical tastes include: Amon Duul II, Hawkwind, Popol Vuh, King Crimson, Eloy, Gentle Giant, First Band From Outer Space, Hidria Spacefolk, Oresund Space Collective, 35007, Earthless, Steve Hillage, Hypnos 69, Diagonal, Acid Mothers Temple, Birds & Buildings, Subarachnoid Space, Scorpions (70's releases only), old Judas Priest (70's only), Nektar, Black Widow (Sacrifice), ELO, Brainticket, A.R. & Machines, Circus 2000, 2066 & Then, My Solid Ground and Rush!

So now that you know what music stirs the cauldren of my mind, please give me some recommendations of some excellent RPI, dark prog, heavy RPI prog, space prog, spacey trippy rock, modern, classic, whatever. Post or email me. [email protected]

If you've never heard of any of the above mentioned bands, you seriously need to check them out. Many have mp3's here in Prog Archives. This site is an absolute godsend!!!

Ying Yang

You should definitely be checking out Nichelodeon.

Welcome! I see a lot of Italian prog there! You have good taste! It sounds like you wouldn't necessarily be into certain strains of RIO, though you might enjoy Univers Zero, particularly "UZED" & "Heatwave" - they are heavier and more rocked than the others. [You can easily find them blogged I think]. Sounds like you might like "Avant Prog" or "Zeuhl" [they are genres in case you didn't know] better than RIO. RE Avant Prog, try "Ahvak" self-titled - sure it's blogged too. Otherwise I will put on my thinking cap!

Best,
Cleo

If the ZART and all its friends and former members decide to meet, I'd suggest the Henry Cow restaurant in Rome. Tongue

Cheer-Accident and Gosta Berlings Saga will be instant buys ... if, by that point, I've had a chance to buy all the other CDs that have come out this year that have enticed me thus far.

Hmm...interesting selection for May. The ones that interest me the most atm are Merzbow/Pinhas and Leo Smith.
