Applying for jobs is the most annoying thing ever. I hate it.
I don't mind sending a CV, as it's already written but adding a covering letter is very annoying indeed.
Why do I have to go through all this sh*t? Why can I not just turn up on their doorstep in my best suit and impress them with my bullsh*t?
That's the thing, I can walk into a Voluntary Job without an issue, really. You cannot walk into paid work.
The one thing that annoys me about Covering Letters and CVs in general is the shmaltzyness. Nobody understands what I'm getting at though.
You have to basically say all the buzz words in a CV/Letter and all these buzz words are usually in the Job Specification. Anyone who actually wants a job, will make sure they use these buzz words. If I was an employer, I'd personally rather know weaknesses and other things. So woopie, you say you're hard-working, friendly and a team-player. So are the 20 other people whose CVs I've looked at. Why do I want to employ you over everyone else?
Tell me your music tastes. More about your hobbies than just "reading". Have a personality people!

Haha, if I get an interview I can usually seal the deal. Lucky for me I've worked at my job for three straight years I'm sure it's a little harder for you people with actual careers though.

At the end of the day, yes, team-playing, hard-working and such are important. But it's in the Interview where you'll find out if that's true or not. The laziest person in the world could say they were hard-working. True, they'd get found it in the interview but I feel CVs need to a bit more personal and honest.
I also find programmes like Changing Rooms highly annoying. If I was buying a house, I'd rather it was in plain white. Not decorated by some stupid idiots to make it sell better. Especially as the new tenants may well just redecorate anyway. I know I would.
