Topic: An E through H poll Posted: March 17 2011 at 13:59
These are just albums I currently have transferred to my new mp3 player that encompass the letters E, F, G, and H. My iPod touch is quite new and I haven't transferred a lot of my collection.
Lots of albums I really love here, obviously, but I'll give a vote to Egisto Macchi's Futurissimo. No it's not in PA, the majority of these albums are, though I think it has merits as do the others not in PA that are listed here.

I won't vote: there are at least four masterpieces here: Dun's Eros, Comus, Bjorn J-Son (incredible) and Wakewitch's Hathor (shocking). VDGG is of course a very good classic, I'm not familiar with particular Magma's and Miles' albums.
I hope I'll get Hoyry Kone sooner or later. I don't know others, except Faust, which doesn't do much for me.

It may not be easy listening, but if you've tried any Art Zoyd and were somewhat interested, then I'd recommend checking out Generation Sans Futur. On the other hand, maybe not since it has Faust-like qualities. Generation Sans Futur
is a major masterpiece to me. I love many Art Zoyd albums, but that one
is, I think, really special.
Late EDIT: By that way, Get Up With It is a particular favourite Davis album of mine (I always vote for it in Davis polls). Most here, I think, would consider Bitches Brew to be the electric Miles masterpiece (or In a Silent Way which i love), I think of Get Up With It as a major masterpiece of JRF. I've only heard H to He, Emehntehtt-Re and Hopes and Fears, so no vote.
I'm fine with people voting who have heard only three albums. I never care about votes/ results anyway, I'm much more interested in what people write and any discussion that develops about particular albums. And, as usual, I hope to expose people to albums they might not know and maybe I (since such topics expose my tastes) and others will get some recommendations along the way.

Your polls always have too many good options. There are at least nine here I'd be fine voting for...lately I've been more in the mood for Chamber Rock than for Zeuhl, so I may give my vote to Art Zoyd, Generation Sans Futur. It's really grown on me lately.
