Copy and pasting from my OP from the apparently superfluous post rock thread I just made:

A couple months ago, my blessed friend Keith introduced me to Sigur Ros. He got me to try their three albums that he considered the best: Agus Byrin (probably butchered that spelling), (), and Takk.

I found it to be some of the most beautiful music I'd ever heard. Agus Byrin is my favorite. It has a sound that the term "spacey" is usually used to describe, but I think in its case "underwater" fits better. Come to think of it, back when I was first trying to explore prog, I should have listened to Sigur Ros. It's kind of exactly what I was hoping to find.

Yesterday I decided to search google for what were other famous post-rock bands. Names I kept hearing were Explosions in the Sky, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, and Mogwai.

I listened to a Godspeed You! Black Emperor 23 minute epic song on youtube. It was mindblowing.

I've decided post-rock is my new music obsession for the next few months.

In fact, I've decided to limit myself. To keep from getting overloaded with too much new music, until June I'm only allowing myself to acquire progressive music I haven't heard from Sigur Ros, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Mogwai, and Explosions in The Sky and will only be hearing new pop music from Owl City and the upcoming Lady Gaga album. (Yeah I know... haters)

my suggestions:

Koi, amazing debut album, they have an unique sound, mix Mogwai, Alcest, shoegaze
AM (Autumn Moonlight), Argentinean band very similar to God is an austronaut

THIS SONG JUST BLEW MY MIND

new Explosions In The Sky is kinda boring, i am getting that feeling that they are using the same formula , same concepts over and over again, no fresh ideas,not an exceptional release at all

I like the new EITS, nothing new indeed, "for fans only" but I'm a fan 

I didn't know, but Tuna Laguna have a new album ready, and they released a single here: http://tunalaguna.bandcamp.com/track/funtitled

Sounds like they're stepping further away into nu-jazz territory, close to Jaga Jazzist for example. I'll love this album if it's like that!

Also, the new Ulver is very good. The best album from our "turf" in 2011, so far.

I just added En Plein Air's first full length album to their page here and I strongly urge you guys to check them out.Their 4 song debut ep was superb.They mix post rock and classical with some jazz influences and violin and cello are prominent in their music.Highly recommended!
