The very poor in America do have it pretty good.

You can live surprisingly well off what we throw away.
Not that it's good by any means of course.

As I described in the Shred Room, I can (and have many times) fed my family (four of us) on $30 for the week- and we've never done without.  It's amazing how resourceful someone here can be.

I don't know of any homeless person in the US resorting to this.

Even if I had the money, I don't believe in it at all. I'd rather spend my money on myself or someone I care about than a stranger's narcotics habit.

Its true, of course Im not saying they have it fine...but yeah in the US the very poor dont have it that bad relatively.

You can legit live off what we throw out. Especially compared to what its like in so many other places.

In Montréal if a homeless person is causing a rukus the police throw him in the cruiser and dump him in the gay village. Needless to say the gays are not to happy about this and an article appeared in this morning's Gazette exposing this practice. Where I live I knew that  anybody who looks like that they are not supposed to be here is carted off by public security officers ( rent a cop ) and dumped downtown somewhere. Thearticle didn't make it clear why it was the gay section. What do gays and homeless people have in common? Am I missing something?
