Who are the last 3? |
Bruckner, Shostakovich and Handel. I just couldn't leave him out any longer. I'm drowning on cds of his music... |
I would have guessed Handel. I can't believe I didn't recognize Shostakovich. |
Yes, even the technique of the painting shows a more modern composer...

Huh, people actually like Coyote. That albums is bad and you should feel bad. Kayo Dot is in general unreliable at best and most often terrible and it hurts my soul to think people like that band. Have a good day.

I figured that much. I think the age is what did it for me. Most pictures I've seen of him show him as a young man.

There's no context for you to appreciate those words. One of the songs is about Howard Hughes. Two of them are about his early beliefs in reincarnation. One is about a Hesse novel.
I happen to like some of Driver's lyrics- just not the wailing I hear on Coyote.

Clearly you have no soul to be hurt if you dislike Kayo Dot.

I'm not a huge fan of his lyrics actually. I like the ones on Coyote, though they're not exactly his.
I just really can't stand most of Kansas' lyrics.

| I gave it three apathetic stars. I sort of like the album, but can't really say why. It drags on and drags on despite only being 39 minutes along.

Hmm not sure. I've never been moved by any of their lyrics, nor have they produced any great visuals in my head.

I generally don't care about lyrics, often kind of tune them out....
I tend to treat vocals as another instrument, then conveying the message. Which is why I'm ok with scat singing and Kobaļan!

Yeah, I'm pretty much neutral at best when it comes to Coyote. Can't say I ever want to listen to it again.

I treat the voice as an instrument and bad lyrics don't detract from a song, but if they are good that is certainly better than them being bad.

Oh of course. Good lyrics are always a plus, though not essential.

Can terrible lyrics ruin a song with decent music?

For me no. Though of course really bad ones can still make you wince a bit! It's the flip side of what I said about good lyrics being good, but not critical to me for enjoyment.
