Symphony no. 7 - I'm going to see it performed by the LSO here in Philly on Tuesday.

Amazing. Amazing orchestra. Who's conducting?

Mahler live I've only experienced the 5th under Tilson-Thomas here last year. Great rendition. My personal favorite is the 6th though.

Valery Gergiev.  I saw MTT conduct Mahler's 2nd here last year, absolutely stunning.

The Fairfax Symphony Orchestram (and I am pretty sure that is Fairfax city, not county) is playing Resurrection later in the year. Apparently they have enough pieces to do it, though.

The Detroit Symphony Orchestra has been on strike all season, and may end up cancelling the entire season.

It's weird that people live in cities that have orchestras.
