They're an avant-jazz outfit that seems to have been a fan of some RIO music.

My bad they are here. I don't know how I missed them.

Anyway, they're good. You should check them out.

They are here, I added him/them under Ellipsis (a mistake perhaps?) Smile
Very angular, disjointed and dissonant music; I listen to it only when in a specific destructive mood Big smile

That's why I didn't find them. A google search put me in my place though.

Isn't it strange how a company like Altrock still thinks it can market new CDs by unknown bands without offering *any* song samples. The website are so primitive, it's like a timewarp to the early nineties. It's quite ridiculous when it's so easy to create a Youtube channel and upload a few sample tracks.

You should explore a bite more the interweb: I could name a dozen of label websites, from jazz to death-metal, without any sample songs.
And there's better than Youyoutube (Bandcamp, anyone?)

By the way, in the early nineties, I think most of the labels promote their records by some good ol' press campaign.

Thinking about AltRock, I wonder what kind of bands we would see at the Tritonales. Too bad that Aranis is not likely to play in Paris...

To Mr. SaltyJon,

Korekyojinn's Tundra kicks ass.

Thank you for recommending this album, I wasn't sure whether I should go for it or not. As you can tell, I did. Big smile

That is all, carry on.

mine arrived yesterday along with the Koenji dvd

is it only me or the new Koreyojin sounds like a 2nd generation cassette ?
I felt like he was making big progress with the sound in his releasessome of them (Le Silo 8.8 and Angherr Shisspa ) even sound quite good of the last few years
until this came the sound has an almost claustrophobic effect

I absolutely adore them! "Control and Resistance" is a 13 [out of 15] for me, "The Nail That Stands Up Gets Pounded Down" a 12, and they're both looking at moving up...

Does anyone want to help with the "Get Jon to the RIO Fest" fund this year?  We accept donations of $1000, $2000, and $4000. LOL

Many bands that I've never heard of. Aren't Panzerballet some sort of wacky metal-fusion?

I think I saw them live on Arte Lounge (a late show on Arte). I wouldn't judge a band on ONE song, but the said song wasn't very good: it sounded like this band intended to play some jazz-metal stuff, but with just a very tiny, little knowledge of metal and an unsure approach to jazz.
