Am I the only person who doesn't really like them very much? I prefer the pop-meets-bedlam approach to their self titled and the reckless experimentation of
White Light/White Heat.

The Velvet Underground almost seem, I dunno, pandering. They've said they wanted to make it big but I just don't think they had the mental orientation for straight-ahead mainstream pop rock, as talented as they were. I'd as soon listen to Nick Drake or
Sticky Fingers than anything from their last two albums.
If anyone here is a big fan of those two, could you try to explain their appeal to me? I honestly can't figure out why they're regarded as classics.
