From my experience as a reviewer, there should be a button that generates an automatic PM along the lines of:
"I registered with this site just to tell you how retarded you are. It's unbelievable that you are a five star member of this site, because you're a disgrace. I hope you go deaf because you obviously can't appreciate good music. Bye."

At least that would save some people the effort.
As usual....Mr Skeletor is spot on......do you mind if I copy/paste your comment in future PMs?...of course I will pay you a royalty for each usage of say US$14million per post.

^yes.
Lets not turn the intention of the OP on its ear. If there is one thing the site/forum/members could use is an infusion of positivity. Many of the responses in this thread are further evidence of that.

I love this idea. I agree that there should be no "dislike" option... for the same reasons facebook dosn't have one so that we can stay positive and not cause problems

I really wish Facebook had a dislike button.
But I'm a loon.
Gosh, so do I.
The lack of "dislike" on facebook makes one have to decide if somthing is disliked enough to write out a witty trolling comment rather than simply mark it as bad. Besides if it gets too bad you always can unfriend

let's just stay above the moral melee prefer the sink to the gutter keep our sand-castle virtues content to be a doer as well as a thinker, prefer lifting our pen rather than un-sheath our sword

I laughed there too Snow Dog
In all serious this is a great idea - just a green button indicating - 'i read the review and enjoyed it'. No negative options please as you could get inundated by them and thats not helpful.

It seems it was not discussed yet. I saw such feature in other forums.
Many of us write reviews, but in most cases we don't know are they helpful for site visitors or no. There are only options "Send comments" and "Report this review".
I would prefer that we concentrated on cleaning up what is considered a "review" on the stuff that we have, since a lot of the things attached to many albums are NOT a review and should not be there at all.
In general, if any of us has something to say about a review, we will send something to the reviewer anyway, so I imagine that a link for this or that is not necessary and might in the end, just flood the board with un-necessary stuff, specially if someone is going to object to something, and the Admins can not see what is going on underneath it. In this case keeping it above board would be better and more visible than a bunch of slurs and private insults.
Best keep things above board and in the open.
I have made many suggestions, none of which have ever been even discussed in good faith ... so I am not sure that it matters what we say here.
I would have liked, and would devote a bit more time to it is need be, instead of World of Warcraft, but I doubt that many of the folks here want an old fart like me, and I gave up looking for that one blonde some 40 years ago ... she wasn't worth the price of admission!

Ep ... it should say ... I registered with this site and read about Rush and am qualified to discuss KC after a few beers and Kiss after a few vodkas (that's what they called girls then!) ... and I find your review as revolting as ....

Agreed.
In the end, the thumbs thing ends up getting us spam as you mention, and sometimes ... 1234565442 thumbs down and 3 thumbs up ... does that mean we should remove it from PA?
