A lot of the jokes were funny when I saw them 10 years ago on the Simpsons.

You obviously haven't watched much Family Guy then.

I've seen most episodes because my girlfriend loves it. It's an amalgamation of simpsons jokes, random humor, and poor pop-culture references thrown together without any guise of a coherent story.

That's fine. I love you despite your flaws.

No, it's true, Family Guy is a terrible, terrible show. It's gotten even worse since it came back from cancelation.

I lost points from my final grade for being late to class today. And she kept us 15 minutes over when it's a worthless class. Lame.

I would flip sh*t. Being in class is completely irrelevant to you understanding material, which is the supposed goal of a course. Participation grades are built in curves to allow the morons a chance to pass by showing up and sleeping, and to punish the intelligent students by making them sit through wave after wave of inane sh*t coming from the professors mouth when their time could be better spent out of class actually learning rather than listening to some half-witted professor teach monkeys how to read and write while doing their best to indoctrinate their students with subjective value judgments.

I fully agree with this. And luckily that's pretty much what it's like for us. Naturally there are mandatory parts of the courses - labs, seminars etc., but you can choose whether to go to the lectures or not.

Family Guy is meh. I think that it is kinda funny, but I'm 14. (Simpsons are better!)

Every serious course I ever took (Math, Physics, Economics, Philosophy) was had no such silly requirement. The other courses I was forced to take for general requirements however did.

Well, the above discussion makes me feel less worse about missing my calculus discussion today.  The snow day threw me off; I went to my Philosophy class first thinking it was a Wednesday but on Thursdays I have my calc discussion first.
Oh well, I probably can afford to skip this one.  There’s no quiz and I understand the stuff we were gonna be discussing anyways.

I hate wasting me time in classes when I'm ostensibly smarter than the person teaching it.

Bold words!
Nah, I'm just pissed off at time wasted gaining less knowledge than I could have on my own.

Problem is, I’m not ostensibly smarter than the person teaching it because I’m hopelessly lost and confused and they’re not helping.

I'm a bold man.

I get pissed off about that too. But I've occasionally noticed that I should be teaching the professor also.

I offer online tutoring at reasonable rates.
