Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck I have to go into school for an hour tomorrow to see my sh*thead house dean. Lame.
Oh lame, I get to fill out some lame questionnaire about the positive things in my life right now.
whats a house dean? Either way that sounds terrible and pointless. Haha, maybe that questionnaire will be a good pick me up!
We have a house system at our school (we have like 1400 students) so it's basically split up into 8 houses. We do assemblies/lockers/camps/sports events in house groups generally. A house dean is a teacher who takes up the main administration for that house, kinda like a head of department except for a house. The one we have now though is a total dick, and for some reason thinks we're best friends so he always expects me/asks me to do stuff in my out of school time to make his job easier.

all year like last year again.
Is there no way you can get him to dump the work on someone else?
Next year I'm honestly just gonna tell him I have better things to do every time he asks, my parents don't pay school fees/I don't attend to do his work.

I like heavy music. That band just never really clicked with me. a big aspect of music for me is a good melody, and Meshuggah seems based off rythum. Talented musicians though.

Thats fair enough, Meshuggah is giving my picking hand a really good work out though.

Hell yeah pkj, just be straight up with him. I hate it when people try to act all nice when you both know better. Lucky for me when I was in school, I had some alright teachers!

I used the old "I'm doing assignments" trick, works well.

Yup, I've played guitar on and off for a long time, but just started getting serious about it. I like to think that I'm creative enough to write interesting riffs with what skill I have. Such a fun instrument!

Yeah, he makes it seem like he thinks he's doing me a favour by asking me to help him out. My school also makes it compulsary to do about 50% more classes in year 11 and 12 and we get about half as much study time, and he always asks if I can come do stuff for him in the little study time we get. Never gonna do it

(Going by what Meshuggah I've heard) this.
I used to find Meshuggah super hard to listen to, although I've grown to quite like and respect a lot of their stuff. They are definitely rhythmically based (even the vocals are very non-melodic and percussive nearly all the time).
@Bogg: right now I'm attempting to play the main verse to this (restrung the Schecter today):
Although I can't get the proper picking meldoy right, so I'm playing like half of it

I'd get an eight string. I heard this recording the other day where a guy was playing each of the strings on a twelve string individually. It sounded pretty darn cool! I have an electric on layaway right now!
When I sell one of my 6 strings, should i get a better cabinet for my amp or an 8 string?
Your choice man; don't you already have that 4x12 (can't remember the specs) slant Bugera cab? I've pretty much completely changed my mind about an 8, although I definitely want one, I'm probably gonna get an acoustic 6 first + get some recording stuff.

Nice,
also, what gauge strings did you go to? I restrung mine last
weekend with a set of 9-42's and it feels the same way as when it was
new
I used to use 11-48's, but now I'm using 9-42. WAY better feel IMO.

btw Alex, are you a Modest Mouse fan or was that someone else?
I'm a fan of their album from 2008 (wasn't easy, though), but I haven't tried anything else from them.
You guys are talkative today.
Ah. I picked up an album of covers of Modest Mouse stuff by Sun Kil Moon (amazing alt-rock/folk stuff) and I like the covers about 100 times more than the originals
