I think we should just close this thread now before it detiororates even further.
We can of course close if it turns ugly but after it s everyone responbilities to keep the thread a minimum serious.

I don't see why this thread is worse than "prog best album" or "Whatever band best album"

Because it's just a matter of time before somebody says "Love Beach" in big letters.

Naked City's Leng Tche

John Zorn said "you know, all the music I've been doing is too touch feely and flowers and such. how about I shake it up and make an album that evokes the feeling of being tortured to death." Sadly I'm not joking.
You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

Easily a 4 star album.

Hmm. F#A# Infinity is up there. I like the first 6 minutes of The Dead Flag Blues, then the rest of the album is unlistenable. Shame because I love the rest of GY!BE's work.

Most of the albums mentioned here are very good.

Be careful. This would lead credence to the belief that even bad prog music is not so bad. Which of course is incredibly wrong. WinkTongue

Oh, I would include Kayo Dot's second but the first three songs are rather listenable.

I love it. It's like a rock Threnody for the Victims of Hiroshima. It makes you feel like sh*t and horrified, but it's highly enjoyable.

The worst album I've heard on this site is Neil Morse's Testimony. It's atrocious, but certainly not the worst album ever I have to assume.

Interesting definition of enjoyable. You crazy.

Unfortunately it's also repetitious in a boring way at times. There's only so many ways to scream in mock pain. Of course you have to wade though 15 minutes of bad sludge metal before you get to that part.

But I admit that I'm not the target demographic for that work.

Boney M has got some really bad albums.
I donīt particularly enjoy the Grease soundtrack either, although I know all the lyrics (I have a serious score to settle with my mum on that one).
In Denmark we also have something called Dansktoppen (The Danish Top), which is a bona fide crime against music and should be put to sleep at any given moment.

In prog circles: Magma - Merci and perhaps that Torman Maxt album I heard about a month ago, but there is really no accounting for taste.
