I reckon that Hugues would have won this race long ago if he wasn't spending so much time in the library and supermarket. Tongue

Well apparently I spend so much time in supermarkets that i must buy food tor three people...; and I am a few kilos overweight... so maybe there is more than me writing these thoughts down... maybe I'm copying them from the library shelves

Hughes just directed me to his poll here.LOL  I am definitely the long shot.Maybe if Hughes and Daniel were to suddenly disappearShocked then i might have a shot.
I've never seen anyone put up reviews as fast as Daniel.I remember when he passed me a couple of years ago i just felt the wind.LOL He told me recently he has lots of reviews done he just needs to add them,this was after i actually tied him a few weeks ago after his hiatus, then he rifled off about 8 in a row and i think i heard that sound the Roadrunner makes when he lets the coyote get close then takes off.LOL

Well the hard disc of my laptop just died5at least I think that's it), soi have to bring it for repair, and I'll be computer-less at home for a while.... which means no reviews either

Wow, this was imbedded quickly and deeply...
 
I got my "new" laptop and started reviewing again... but I'm starying to run out of things to review (jkWink)
 
 
More interesting is that mellotron storm has almost caught up to  Zowie Ziggy... it's a matter of days now
, but you never know with Daniel power outbursts

It's simple. It's a matter of psychology.
 
Hugues will let it all pass: he knows when he's been beaten.
Zowie Ziggy wants to reach the nr. 1 spot: he aimed long for it. Seismologists expect another outburst of reviews soon.
In the end Mellotron Storm will beat everyone, because a steady pace will always be more effective than heavy explosions.

There is approx 500 legally free downloads albums listed here. As you are the folky proggy man here; start with the three albums from here and continue with Dw Dunphy before moving on to Senmuth. That should take you to 3050 reviews.

Hugues has always been in the lead since I've been here, so I doubt this will change. My question is where the hell do you get 3000 albums? I mean I've been collecting music for maybe 6 or 7 years and have about 600 albums, most of which I am in no position to "review" 
You guys' feat of 2500+ reviews boggles my mind Confused

3000 is not much for a collector, there are quite some people here on PA who went beyond that figure. But Hugues has a very good public library at his disposal, apparently.

Actually it's not a local library... It's a nationwide Mediatheque that was fiirst created in the 30's to allow easier and cheap access to culture for everyone, especially the blue-collar working class. It's not just movies
 
This public(Gv't)-owned system used to be heavily subsididized, but lately (last 10-years) they've become more financially independant (forced by budget cuts) and regularly comes under fire from the industry.... but I've bought hundreds of albums after discovering them through the system.
 
This system works from specialized "shops" in big and medium cities (8 places in Brussels, for ex) where they have very partial collections and computers to browse all of their catalogues and the whereabouts they're located.... then you can reserve them and they get it and it waits for you 10 days for you at the designated counters. Smaller cities have their local book libraries share space for this system (generally a small selection and a computer for reservations on the counter.
Small outback Ardennes villages receive weekly visits from walk-in discobusses, filled with a selection of discs and the reservations that have arrived... You'll bring them back at the bus' next week's passage or drop them in the system's closest mailboxes.

I lost the last race (1000/2000)  to Gatot two years ago, if you remember well..... Eric had sworn he'd cross the line first, and I'd made sure I was ahead of him so he wouldn't get it (this was a Benelux thing) >> I had even rented and reviewed things I didn't really want to hear back then.... and Gatot sent in some 100 reviews overnight..ConfusedShockedUnhappyLOL.
 
Unlike Daniel/ZZ or Gatot,  I have no reserve reviews, and I have less time to devote to music (family problems, something also plaguing ZZ)

Seconded. I have no idea how can one hear so many albums (and you need to hear them at least few times to write a fair review) and then have also the time to write about each one of them. Sounds "mision impossible" to me. May the best one win. I admire you all.

I actually passed Zowie ZiggyShocked i'm sure it's very temporary knowing Daniel. It's the first time he's let me pass though so i should print this off as proof.Big smile 
By the way i have enough in reserves to hit 3,000 but i'm just going to plod along as usual.Hughes will always be "The Man" on this site as far as i'm concerned.
