So a few months ago I posted a thread of this same title on the Flower Kings forum. They were fairly helpful, but there weren't many members. So I believe that since this website has more users, I might get more information to understand this. So without further adu, here is the post I made: "I think this album might have a loose concept to it. For example,
"Solitary Shell" seems like a reprise of "The Navigator". That's only
the real evidence I have, but a lot of the songs, together or not, seem
to have the concept of a man reconstructing his life and making a deal
with the devil in order to do so. For example, maybe in "Silent Inferno"
is when the character makes the deal (First of all the song has the
word Inferno in it, and there is also the line Halfway down (In hell)/
See your (the Devil's) face's frown). Perhaps you guys can find more
connections."

If an admin thinks so, then he/she can move it, but unfortunately, I don't have the ability to do so

Ah, Unfold The Future
![]() I'm curious as to what sort of underlying themes that users here have discerned from the double-album.

Definitely a concept album connecting the creation of life, evolution, God, Satan and the influence of all that in man's history. If that was released during the 70's, its rating would be > 4.70

Yeah, Unfold the Future is definitely an amazing achievement, musically and conceptually. The first song alone covers so much musical ground, much more than many bands do in their entire careers. It also serves the purpose of acting as a giant overture of sorts for the rest of the album.
It really is one of the most ambitious recordings I've ever heard, topped only by the live album and tour that followed. I can only think of one reason why it's so underappreciated, and it's because some people who listen to it don't actually listen to their music. Because if they were actually listening they'd be drowned in the immersive pool of musical ideas that is Unfold The Future. One of my Top 5 prog albums of all-time. I'd seriously rank it with classic masterpieces like Pawn Hearts and Close to The Edge.
