Keiji Haino has way too many bands for me to keep track of, especially since I'm not much of a fan from what I've heard.

Also Jon, I am dying in my Physics class, I do not want to spend the rest of the semester doing algebra about throwing or rolling balls but it seems I have to.

I'm becoming more and more of a fan of his stuff...for a while I was scared off by some of what I heard, but I'm coming around again and feeling more receptive.  I wonder if an album was ever released of the duo with him and Brötzmann...

And just wait, eventually you'll get to physics classes in which you don't talk about anything like that...quantum is a lot more fun.

True story.

Well yeah, guessing Zener cards by ESP is bullsh*t, so of course it's not going to hold up to repeated trials. The odds of those guesses were not really "one in nine million", that whole experiment was awash in horrible math, and I'm disappointed The New Yorker continued to abuse statistics while discussing it. A lot of that whole article stuck me was woo woo nonsense: they can't replicate the results because the early results were caused by a mistake, or a coincidence, or both, and were perpetuated by the various biases in the scientific community. That's worth discussing, but it's not worth wondering aloud "If the scientific method is inherently flawed". The have been many cases where studies seemed air-tight and were later discredited, and it's especially difficult to get good data on the descriptive behavioral stuff they're talking about, where you can't do an experiment in a lab like with testing a new material.  Which they then later talk about, which I hadn't gotten to when I first wrote this post, but the mystical tone taken in the first half is troubling.

for the longest time I had been trying to figure out why Morse (the song from the Jean Louis album of the same name) sounded so familiar to me, and it finally occurred to me

I don't think I'll f**k up this thread with my bullsh*t very much tonight.--I've got more episodes of X-Files to fill this night until I pass out. I try to be a good person, I want to meet people, I'm trying to be natural socially, but nope. Just nope. Something's wrong, dunno what. I know In two weeks or whatever I'll be notified they didn't give me the scholarship. I'll be so far in debt, sh*t job...it's all f**ked.
