I was just asking myself this question a couple days ago, so I went and bought Maudlin of the Well's "My Fruit Psychobells ... A Seed Combustible."  I will now have the said album and "Part the Second."  I would like to own more Maudlin, but their albums are really hard to find.  If I find it though, "Leaving Your Body Map" will probably be my next album.  If not, maybe Genesis's "Wind and Wuthering."

I've got candidates, but not much money so it may take a while:

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

Been curious about Mew, perhaps the recent comp Eggs Are Funny will be the next purchase.

Otherwise, new albums by Seefeel, The Radio Dept, PJ Harvey, Madlib and Beans are also on my list (all coming out in a month or so).

Glass Handed Kites?  I take it you think that album best represents the band?  I'll check it out! Smile

Yes, and IMO it is also their most progressive offering. Great band BTW.

Hi,

I have no idea ... when the muse hits, the muse hits ... and I get ... I never worry, ot think about what I'm gonna get next ... let me tell you about my first trip to Rasputin in Berkeley, or the Warehouse in Westwood, of in the old days the Tower on the Strip ... you would be crazy to go in there with a "choice", because 20 things are gonna get in your way before you even get to pick that one you cane to get ... so I never make those decisions ahead of time ...

I do have in my backpack a list of 500 LP's I need to get rid of by picking up the CD's ... and in general I try to discipline myself via Amazon by making sure I get a 3 to 1 ratio or something so that at least I am getting rid of the LP's i nmy collection more and more every day. But I would not pass up "Ukab Maerd" ... no matter what anyone would say!

Who knows?

I'm trying to add a bit more to my Frank Zappa stuff, specially the orchestral stuff. I might get Captain Beefheart. But I am thinking of updating my SF/LA list because right now it sux and is incomplete. I need to get things like It's a Beautiful Day, Quicksilver Messenger Service, update my Jefferson Airplane, and get the first 4 albums by Steve Miller ... get some Paul Butterfield Blues Band, some Al Kooper ... and those two albums by Mark Almond.

It's all too much! I need some more money!

Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

2 albums I got on my mind:

154 by the band Wire and St. Radiguns by Spirogyra.

Also I am awaiting several albums that I hope my parents got me for my birthday.

I'm old-fashioned in that I like being surprised by record store goodies. If you go in with zero expectations, you find yourself much more willing to take risks. I'm sad to see such possibilities aren't available for our Iranian proggers Cry

When I go on a second hand vinyl hunt it could be anything. And that also applies to new vinyl fresh off the press which I buy far less frequently.
