I need to find an avatar that really fits my personality and doesn't annoy other people (Ness too childish, Rei to anime-ish for some people, Kubrick too creepy.)

Definitely. If you really like surreal films (as well as stop-motion animation) try out some films by Jan Svankmajer. The man is a genius how he creates such a genuinely creepy atmosphere with the various objects he uses.
