I really, really don't get the parallel between both bands, both are great.
But Queen is a love from life to me

only on a prog site can Marillion compet and get even with one of the mastodonts of rock, that is Queen.
both bands are over generally good, i think Marillion learnd more tricks from Queen then vica versa

The question is not, who influenced who, but who you like more.
I like Fish-era Marillion more than anything from Queen. |

At their best, I will choose Marillion by 2982031 miles.
At their worst, I'll probably have more doubts.

I would doubt that anyone on the site could name one tiny part of any Marillion track which was influenced by Queen |

Historically I've known Queen for a lot longer than Marillion, but in recent years I've listened to Marillion a lot more, so my vote goes to Marillion, but I love both bands.

Queen. No question. I've been in love with them since I was a little kid
and still I'm faithful. I own their whole discography (but the last
studio album with Paul Rodgers but it's not really Queen).

I have no interest in Queen, but I have a bunch of Marillion, My policy is to never speak ill of an artist I don't know very well.
