One of the most progressive albums Toto have done, also among the top 3 in technical and virtuoso level in their discography.

Notes are literally flying in some songs here, heavy blistering riffs, guitar squeeels, fantastic drumming by Porcaro, maybe he's most technical drumming on an album.

probably Toto’s least jazzy album, which makes this their most symphonic album sound wise, more in style of 80s Yes and Asia then Journey or Foreigner, the vocalist Fergie even sounds like Jon Anderson in some songs,

Also the first without singer Bobby Kimball and bassist David Hungate, they are replaced by Fergie Fredriksen and Mike Porcaro

so this is the first album where all the Porcaro brothers are on the same album Jeff on drums, Steve on keyboard/synth/ARP (he does some wild stuff on this album) and Mike on Bass

My probably favourite Toto album (right now), next week maybe Turn Back or Mindfields Cool

this is difficult all the 10 songs are good and challanging to pick only one song that is best, but the most proggy is Lion or Change of Heart, Stranger in Town is also cool and Carmen, that riff can be playd for ever and is never boring and the keybord solo in the middle is just impressive.

I have to pick Lion this time

Lucas and Aginor travels

through an Endless sea of Isolation while we could not reach to the other side to the Lion realm where some rumors about Holyanna was spread through every rock and tree, first while coming on land one guy Mr. Friendly he was called said to us "Angel Don't Cry", we suddenly felt a Change of Heart, and said to ourself while we strolled down the road, How Does it Feel, to be a Stranger in Town, we finally knew by then Carmen would not return.

Silly story

^

well done.

This album is actually one of my favourite TOTO albums. And it helped me discover one of Fergie's previous bands : Le Roux with their masterpiece, 'so fired up'.

I think How Does it Feel also is one of the best Toto ballads, and probably one of the best sung/singed by Lukather

I once (also now but a little less than before) view Steve Lukather as one of finest musicians alive, he's talent does not only lie in he's guitar prowess, but also he is overall the best singer in the band though lack the range og Bobby, Fergie and Joseph, but have more timbre or what it is called, he is a good songwriter, arranger, conductor, solo artist, whom have five or six SOLID solo album ranging from Psychedelic rock to Jazz fusion. He is best friend of Eddie Van Halen.

also after reading many interviews with Luke, he is also one of the most reflective and honest guys in the business and say it straight out what is wrong with today’s music buiss, you better listen to what he sais about record deals and how to behave as a Musician and also what you should stay off (like coke),

No; all respect to Luke

I went for Carmen. It's a good album but I still prefer Hydra myself.

I love this album as well, can't choose a song, there are some great ones here - Mr Friendly, Endless, Isolation, I can't make up my mind.

Sadly, Fergie passed away a couple of years ago. Such a talented and gifted vocalist. :(

probably in my top 10 AOR albums of all time and, along with Turn Back, probably my fave Toto album. I think all the tracks here offer something, but I do like Angel Don't Cry...
Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson
