Topic: Muse: The Resistance Tour Posted: March 31 2010 at 00:56 |
I just saw Muse live in Calgary on the North American leg of their world tour. I am new to the whole Muse thing, but I have to say these guys put on a hell of a show. It was unfortunately a bit short and a few of their gems were left out. That certainly was not enough to stop them from throwing a good party. The playing was spot on (maybe could have used a touch more synth volume though) and elaborate stage was fantastic.
This was the third time I've been on the floor for a big rock extravaganza (Rolling Stones and Rush being the other two). I think it was a livelier experience than Rush (due to age of the crowd mostly) but not quite as good as being 6 rows back from Mick and the boys. If you happened to be there tonight I was the tall guy to the back left rocking out with the double fist pumps.
Anyone else see them or gonna see them?

They're on my list of bands to see. I've seen footage of them live, and they look great.
What did they open with?

The Resistance Tour is an ongoing concert tour by English alternative rock band Muse in support of their fifth studio album The Resistance.

I was at the Stade de France concert! Biggest gig I've ever been to, 80-thousand people! Also, the show was amazing. I was walking around the Stade trying to find the entrance because it's a giant stadium and it takes at least 10 minutes to get to gate T, so when I heard the opening drums to Uprising I just ran like I never ran before, gave the man my ticket and ran off into the stadium!

I saw them a couple of times following Black Holes and Revelations. Once at Cardiff which was great fun and again at Wembley Stadium (when the HAARP DVD was recorded)
Matt Bellamy is a phenomenal talent. However as a band I think they have now 'jumped the shark'. I can't warm to their latest album at all even though there are some decent songs.
Absolution will probably be seen as their peak in years to come. Solid gold masterpeice imo.

I hope they'll come back to Sweden, instead of cancelling the concert without giving any reasons why.
