Why do you need a free copy of Word when you can just download OpenOffice though?

Seriously.  It's basically Microsoft Office but or free and it's legally free too.

Notepad is perfect for poetry. For prose I use Atlantis Nova (and not just because I like the name).

I use Notepad for poetry myself.  For Prose, I just use OpenOffice.

Simple.

Or if I'm being especially anti-Microsoft, I use the Notepad in OpenOffice.

I have Open Office, it's like pretty much identical from what I can tell, although I don't use anything outside of the basic stuff most of the time.

Omg do some of you use Skype?

I used it a few times but I didn't keep it, I found no reason why to use a whole program for something that the messenger I was already using did just as good.

Skype is better.  It's not made by Micro$oft for starters.  Plus it works better and it doesn't have so many stupid and pointless emoticons.

Plus you can get Skype 'phones and call people all over the world, even if they're not on Skype, for a very cheap rate.  You cannot do that on MSN.

Do you assume that I use MS software just because I said I don't use Skype? LOL. LOL And I wouldn't trade my messenger for another that doesn't have the basic emoticons, never (mine doesn't have useless annoying ones, just the essential).

And I can use it to access phone networks, but I never tried it because I access most European land lines for free from my telephone.

What about World landlines?

And Skype does have all the essential emoticons.

I barely have who to call in two European countries, if I ever need more I'll look for a better offer. LOL

I don't have OpenOffice because I hate Microsoft.  It's because it's free and I'm not forking out lots of money for something that does exactly the same thing and it also saves me finding an illegal copy for free.  Plus it's better.

Pretty much this for me; I downloaded it at the start of this year because I needed something for school work and didn't want to pay the 140$ it cost here.
I wouldn't say I hate Microsoft although I definitely don't love them.
