I would like to get a 7 or 8, although I think I'd like to get a baritone first.

Why not get an 8 string baritone?

mmmmm that sounds sexy

Do they exist?
From the few times I've used an 8 I've found the fretboard width far too much to deal with for my womanly hands.

And I dont know if my hands are womanly, but 8 string guitars are pretty nuts to play.
6 string basses are worse IMO.
So thick and heavy

Dude when will you just listen to me?
Apathy.
It's a wonderful thing.

But I don't want to be alone any more. :( I can't give up hope.

Eh, you'll get used to it.
Kinda sucks, but then nah...

And I used to think something was wrong with me, that I don't need to be someone, like most others.
There probably is something wrong.

Then post metal

LOL

that's pretty nice Rob.  Right now I'm using my dad's 70s Fender F-50, which is pretty awesome but I don't want to steal his guitar (well I do but I'd feel guilty)

I want to get one of those ancient Stella/Harmony archtops

Why not?  I stole my old man's (and my grandpa's).

Not really...

My dad's is a 1958 Silvertone acoustic that he gave me.  My grandpa's electric is a beautiful Yamaha SA2200.  The latter actually belongs to my younger brother, but he doesn't play, so he lets me use it.  My grandpa gave me his Peavy 212 amp, which creates some of my favorite tones.

And holy crap, I found a picture of my dad's guitar Shocked:

I learned on one of these things.

That Silvertone is pretty similar to the sort of thing I'm looking for.  I love those old, cheap, American blues acoustics.

like this beaut my friend picked up for $100

If I can't find anything used I like, I might go for one of these
