You'd be surprised at how little of it I drink now.  I sure am. LOL  It's all chocolate milk, Gatorade and cranberry-grape-apple juice mix for me now.

Oh no! TSAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
That is too bad.  The show had a lot of potential, but I think that they were moving way to slow to develop it.

It was an ok premise, but they took it in every wrong possible direction. If it had been bad Stargate would have been one thing, but it had nothing to do with anything Stargate before it, it was just bad.

this is true.  I'm way more chill than Kevin because I drink every friday

I'm way more chill than most people and I don't drink.  Plus,

I'm the perfect amount of chill thank to occasional drinking!
But damn it! Windmill beard......
What I love most about that pic is, it looks like his glasses are homemade!

It sort of did, as the ship that they were on was Ancient technology and when they got off of the ship and went to a planet they did use the Stargate a few times.  I think that maybe it needed to be more like Star Trek Voyager however, where they would at least encounter new alien races every episode just like in the original series.  They spent too much time within the ship just amongst the characters, although the later episodes were adding more action with battle scenes and such as they finally started to have some control of the ship.

Also, sad to hear that Caprica was cancelled.  Again it wasn't as good as Battlestar Galactica had been but I was really hoping to see how they would tie it in to the Battlestar Galactica series.  With the series being cancelled I assume that it is going to be left unconnected.

After some consideration, the SyFy channel has decided that this Shred Room does not live up to the legacy of previous Shred Rooms and therefore this Shred Room was placed on temporary hiatus until they decide whether to revamp it or cancel it altogether.

We could use a Shred Room reboot. All the characters are 10 years younger and are going on one last road trip.

Man, I wanted to put パラサイトシングル in the title but PA gives me errors, I guess it doesn't like foreign characters in thread titles.

This isn't offensive, right?

Pat, if everybody hates Matlab, why don't we use a better program? There's only Maple on the computers at this campus, and while I still am not making any progress, it's a hell of a lot better than Matlab.

maple is fairly easy but glitchy sometimes.  You can do the exact same thing twice in a row and only have it work once

The same reason most everyone runs Microsoft Windows.

There are some free alternatives, but they're not too much different from Matlab really.  You could also just write in C or Fortran, but f**k that.

Maple had some nice features but I haven't used it since college, and only then for trivial math assignments.  I don't know how well it would fare for signal processing/engineering work.

But I don't hate Windows...that much. And that's true, Maple was easier to do simple things, I don't know about the hard stuff.

Heh - that's how most people (including myself) feel about Matlab - it does the job 99% of the time, and the times where you do curse it are not enough to make you switch and suffer through a learning curve of another method/program...and like I said, since everyone else uses it you're pretty much stuck anyway.

Right, Maple may actually be as capable - I just literally have no idea.  And to my point above, even if Maple was superior no one else uses it (as least that I've encountered), so that would be a problem.
