Their low end stuff is absolute rubbish but the higher end gear is decent.

Digital ain't so bad... But you have to pay for decent digital effects...
 
I've got a couple digital pedals on that pedalboard atm, the Strymon blueSky and the Boss DD-20 and they own

I have EMG 808x's in my guitar, and for actives they aren't bad.  They're a bit necessary for 8 strings though.

I haven't had experience with those, but from reading up on sevenstring.org they sound like the best option. Do a google search for Lundgren's on sevsnstring. Bit Costly though.
