I am an Englishman - over the past 2,000 years my country has been at war with practically every country in the world.
Geography is a poor reason to die.

Aaaaah, the Good Ol' Times of Joan of Arc, William the Conqueror... We should totally do another French/English war, it's been a while since the last one, I nearly miss it! Oh, by the way, Fachoda is OURS! |

Now why did I vote here anyway?
I'm Dutch, because I was born in The Netherlands, which in the past was at times part of the Roman Empire, Spain, France and Germany. Being born there at a certain point in time is by mere chance, no way I'm going to die for it. Would you die if your next throw of the dice turns out to be 6? |

Exactly. In a world of multinational interests the concept of 'a country' is outdated. |

I almost died for both Canada & Australia. I would be more worried about dying on an A 380 never mind a country. Junk. |

I would die for the foundational ideology of my country-- freedom and liberty. I don't know in what context my sacrifice would actually preserve these ideologies, though. Usually dying for one's country is a perversion of dying for the political agenda of your leaders, dying to feed the military industrial complex or continue a legacy of unnecessary interventionist foreign policy, etc. The main idea is that I stand for the ideals on which this country is built more than the country itself.

Hi,
i would rather die for progressive music ... my country doesn't care for me, so why should I return the favor? Besides, their imperialism died a long time ago ... all you have to do is listen to Amon Duul 2's Mozambique and you know what I am talking about. Being proud of reckless corruption? ... I don't think so.
But if we're talking about America? ... yeah ... I love it! And would not trade it for any country in the world at all ... !!! They may have folks that are crazy with their "politically incorrect bs" ... but in the end, you can vote that sucker out and send him packing! You can't do that in 80% of the world! Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

For humanity? I'd be honoured.
