All of the new Altrock releases are great for the matter. The live Picchio Dal Pozzo really surprised me with how amazing it is.

Those are two albums on my wish list right there. I'm going to start listening to the latest ARANIS album tomorrow.

To me it's the exact opposite: I find Masal brilliant, and these recordings a bit lackluster.

I just started listening to the new AltRocks last week - I've listened to Yugen and Rational Diet, both are amazing. I still need to go through the other two...

I think I'm becoming more and more of an avant-head. I've ordered about half of the avant albums I've seen released this year. Embarrassed We'll see how long this lasts.

Two superb albums. Rational Diet gets better and better with each release.

Other good to very good releases this year of the broad avant/eclectic kind are the new French TV, Combat Astronomy, Charming Hostess, Chrome Hoof, Xing Sa, Major Parkinson, Dakrya, Extra Life,Scott Johnson, Pin-Up Went Down, Polar Bear, The Resonance Association, Shaolin Death Squad, Zs and the Claudia Quintet.

Of those I've already ordered/recieved French TV, Combat Astronomy, Xing Sa, and Major Parkinson. A few of those I skpped on but several (Polar Bear, Resonance Association, Scott Johnson, Extra Live, Pin-Up Went Down) I hadn't even heard of. I may have to check them out once my wallet recovers from the holidays. LOL

I told Greg Walker about it, and he promptly ordered copies! I haven't checked if it's there yet, but if not, it soon shall be.

Actually, I asked Greg and Squidco if they planned to carry it at the same time. Squidco had just received it, so I got it there. Later Greg told me he ordered it. That's why I mentioned Synphonic first - I felt kind of bad... ;(

I keep forgetting to check Squidco.  I'll have to remember to always check it.

Anyways, CD is now on order, thanks.
