The Reign of Kindo is a recently added crossover-jazz fusion/rock band from Buffalo. Any other fans other than me? I feel lonely being the only actually review for each album Smile

A lot of their songs can be found on youtube if you want to dab your feet--
Great stuff!!

I was compelled to get their latest album after becoming interested through your suggestion, but unfortunately it didn't compare to the splendid live material they have on their YouTube channel. That special vibe was missing, and the compositions didn't seem as inspired.

I have not heard any of their albums, but did watch half a dozen or more of their YouTube videos, and very much liked what I heard.  And although I "hear" harmonium's comment (suggesting that live performances don't always transfer well to CD - i.e., they end up missing the "immediacy"), I do expect to give a listen to at least one album.  In that regard, andyman, which would you suggest that I listen to, if I end up only listening to one?

I have their last album (it was reviewed on one site as modern jazz-avant,and it was the reason of my interest). In reality, they play quality indie-pop or pop-rock with nice jazzy arrangements, that's all. Depending on what you're seeking in, possibly you would like the album. Steely Dan is more jazzy and proggy though.

vinyl is a natural analog recording, where CDs are digital. Therefore the extreme high and extreme low frequencies are cut off, so compression is easier. On vinyl, the music sounds more natural and acoustic. Therefore, that special quality might be better captured on vinyl.
