Indeed, I just saw dredg live two days ago, and I just listened to el cielo for the first time. It's pretty good and I think it'll grow on me more over time.
Caio, I had to go to dinner but I fixed the links.
Yeah, he should still be allowed on the Archives, regardless of if he has a signed release. Cloudkicker is here, after all. |
As I said in the suggestion thread, I think the band might belong in the archives, just not in progressive metal.
|
I think exp/post is the best place for 413
|
As do I, and I know you said that your preliminary listenings made you think they weren't right for experimental/post, but you should really try listening to the album in its entirety. |
I listened to the full albums.
But as I mentioned, I wasn't thinking about exp/post.
The thing is, that genre needs a revamp ASAP. It is pretty much a non-genre right now, a dumping ground for everything that is somewhat metal, but not fitting in the other genres . . . And even so bands that should be there eventually end up in tech/extreme . . . .
|
My bad, I didn't know you had tried them. I agree, but the problem is that there are so many subgenres there that it would require a whole 'nother archives for (MMA) to try and break it down any further. I could see them splitting it up a bit more though. |
Yeah, I just proposed a revamping in the genre. Let's see how that goes.

I hope this album is a big grower. After this listen, I've really enjoyed about 1/3 of it, thought another 1/3 was OK and didn't really like the other 1/3.

Time to listen to Olias of Sunhillow. I heard some of it earlier, and let's say that (since I was expecting something similar to Yes) it's not exactly what I expected.

OoS is okay, but very different from Yes (though I wasn't expecting Yes)... and kinda cheesy. The album art and etc. are excellent though!
