to be honest I think Gladiator kinda stinks, Hannibal much better

^ You'd change your opinion after seeing Robin Hood LOL

I didn't like Hannibal, but it was difficult to see it without thinking of Silence Of The Lambs all the time.

Midsummer Night's Dream (1999) ***** While I was doing a postgrade course, I saw the whole film. For moments, it seems that nothing happens but, on the whole, I think it's good.

Sharktopus - one of those movies which was so incredibly horrible it's good.  Nobody could act, the monster was horribly animated, the plot was nearly non-existent, and to top it all of the movie has a surf-rock style theme song.  Watch it if you want to have a good laugh.

No,no.....each to their own. I may be overly generous. Three stars is perfectly reasonable.

The Paper Chase

A blast from the past in 1970s youth culture classic about first-year students at Harvard Law School struggling to hold on, survive, and make an impression on an old warhorse professor played by John Houseman.  Great classroom drama and a keen ear for law school patois saves from the distracting romance.  Pithy script supported by a fine young cast.

Godzilla's Revenge

Campy but fun one in the classic series from 1969 about a boy who dreams he's on Monster Island, befriends baby Godzilla, and learns to stand up to real-life bullies.  Made for kids but an interesting snapshot of industrial Tokyo and modern Japanese culture of that period, and is often more entertaining than some of the other entries in the Godzilla series.

I just watched Eraserhead, and I really don't know what to think of it.  Very disturbing film.

I watched the new Star Trek instead of doing work (but I didn't do work afterwards so it's ok), and while it was still pretty good the second time, the second watching really brought forward how every element of the storyline is absolutely retarded. How did this get past an editor, JJ? Also, I noticed that Kirk spends a lot of the movie getting beat up and almost falling off of things.

^ couldn't agree more (and I've only seen it once); it could've been, well, better.. yes Kirk does get pummeled frequently though that somehow made sense (you don't get good with your fists till you've taken a few), but when he started running from the ice monster over glaciers only to happen into Spock's cave I knew something had gone terribly wrong.  A sequel has potential-- maybe like the original film series, the even-numbered ones will be good

Amazing website with splendid animated gifs from great movies

Also, I just watched Death Proof. Much to my surprise I liked it, it's great fun. 7/10.

It's Cowboys and Aliens, what does it look like?

I was so desperate to not do work that I watched like 3/5 of The Princess and the Frog with my sister. I guess it was good for a children's movie, although my sister and I enjoyed the bizarre things about it  and questioning whether or not certain elements were actually racist more than what was supposed to be entertaining. The lengths they had to go to make the storyline works really shows how played out their princess trope is, and it makes no sense that the girl would want to marry that jackass, but whatever. Putting magic in such a modern setting made me uncomfortable, though. I was very superstitious as a child, and I am pretty sure that if I had owned this movie then I would have had some negative attitudes towards black people...

Oh, I went to see this movie with my... eh... "ex" in January, and I thought exactly the same. I actually made some jokes about the racists topics, because with my friends we tend to do that kind of racist jokes. I found interesting how they manage the icon of princess and how they took the idea and twisted into what is more regular with kids nowadays. It was fun, and give some hope about kids movies... 3/5 as well...
Change the program inside... Stay in silence is a crime.
