I will be leaving the prog world behind for awhile.  After I finish off Jethro Tull today, my next listens are Joan Jett, Billy Joel, Elton John, Journey, and Judas Priest, of which I have the complete discographies of all but Joan Jett.

Joan Jett kind of sucks, though. Journey is average; certainly not one of my favorites. Your other choices are excellent.

I think I much prefer Joan Jett to Elton John.

I think you had to grow up during the 80's to appreciate Joan Jett and Journey.

I grew up in the 1980s, Scott and don't appreciate them.

Seriously? "I Love Rock N' Roll" vs. "Funeral for a Friend/Loves Lies Bleeding" Hmmmm, I wonder which one is better...

You were too young during the 80's to appreciate them.  And besides your window of appreciation is pretty small.

Ooooh, thanks Jon.  I'll check that out later when my Internet is not annoying me.

My taste is more eclectic that you think, Scott.  I just mostly hate 1980s music.

I Love Rock N' Roll is one of the first songs that I remember from my youth.  When we were in elementary school we were allowed to bring in 45s and sometimes records to play on the record player, and that was one of the first songs that I remember being played a lot.  AC/DC's Back In Black was another one, and Foreigner's Hot Blooded and Double Vision.  This must be all early 80's stuff, so probably when I was 10 to 12 years old.

That's only because DT covered the latter. Tongue
