Pardon me for finding that funny.  There is so much stuff to check out that it will likely take many many years.  There is actually enough material out there that anal-izing it is pointless.  My support remains.  If it doesn't come to fruition I won't be bothered too much.

If he's playing progressive music with people who are progressive then wouldn't that mean *GASP* he is playing progressive music and is therefore progressive?

Basically, that comment was dumb.

Playing Progressive Rock doesn't grant an inclusion unless he writes Progressive Rock music.

Phil Collins is a good example.

I agree, in any case lets add the people he plays with (If they aren't already here) because they are the ones who create Prog.

Ok, I see your point, but isn't Phil Collins included anyways because of his huge impact with Genesis? Obviously Buckethead is not as significant but he has played on over a hundred albums, many of which are progressive.

Also, while Phil is very clearly pop, Buckethead is simply impossible to categorize since he has covered so many genres.

No, Phil Collins is not here.

Genesis, Brand X and Flaming Youth are here, but Phil not.

This might also help his case for being included:

No one without a prog rocker's disregard for social standing could do this

Try this one on:

or this:

I don't know what the problem is.  Well, there's that whole mask and KFC bucket on his head thing....LOL

If you don't want him here then you probably hate your parents. Tongue

He'll be here sooner or later.  Resistance is futile.

I would suggest him to Crossover Prog, BUT I'm not sure if it's a good thing, because I don't even know where to start with evaluating his output, so I simply hope that somebody will make a good case.

Brian, thanks for these videos.

There's a point where "avant-garde" and "experimental" becomes "terrible" and "pointless,"

I just figured out how to put in youtube clips.  Everyone should be very afraid. Tongue

By the way, I've always thought he should be in one of the metal categories, but his work is diverse enough that he belongs in the I Don't Know Where The Hell He Belongs subgenre.  We do have that category, don't we?

^ We should have, but we unfortunately don't. Metal ? Exp/Post Metal ?

At first, I thought that Eclectic is the category, but this was more than one year ago, so I know that Eclectic probably won't go.

We're stuck again ?

I have made my opinion clear many times. My first exposure to Buckethead was at a Progressive Music Festival for crying out loud.
