Too funny to be reported.

This is the guy who has his own thread about becoming a collaborator. At first he wanted to be a reviewer and I told him his reviews weren't very good. That he needed to improve them. Thet are not of a high quality but enthusiastic.

^ Yes, it's our good old arcane. Possibly beautiful.

This guy has a lot of energy and will to carry on, doing these things. But is he able to remedy these bad traits ?

There's a point where "avant-garde" and "experimental" becomes "terrible" and "pointless,"

It seems like this reviewer is taking up the challenge given him and is getting on with it. I have to admire his guts and his attitude.

^ No argument here :-)

I have my own demons (when reviewing) too.

Btw. I am hopefully not mean to Arcane. Me too have a lot of language dysfunctional phrases in my reviews. As a sinner, I am not going to throw stones as Arcane..... (a Biblical reference). I just wish him all the best and good luck.

Listen to the music and enjoy life. Clap

Yes, the difference between a good reviewer (Prog Reviewer) and a fanboy is the ability to see the difference between a

and an

I think this form of bird spotting should be encouraged in ProgArchives.

Well, this would be hilarious:

CONCLUSION: This was my first Ayreon album, and even after hearing their other efforts, nothing will beat it in my opinion. This might be Ayreons last album, because of certain big mouthed nosed stupid, hipster critics didn't really like this album, which made me sad, because because of those a***holes Arjen decided not to continue the traditional Ayreon tradition, and being an Ayreon fan, made me very angry. Critics need to wisen up, and Arjen should really do it for the fans, not for those awkward cretins.

If it wasn't so aggressive.

Too funny to be reported.

The ''traditional Ayreon tradition,'' huh? Interesting. It's even more interesting how apparently anybody who disagrees with this guy is a lowlife cretin.

This has probably been brought up before but I think that a review with less than 100 words can still provide a decent review or summary.

Your post contains 26 words - fine enough for a post on the forum, but detailed enough to present a critique of an album? Don't think so, sorry.

Less than four times the post you made is the minimum criteria for a review. It's not really much, is it?

I'll give you an example. I've just posted a (for me) short review of Pineapple Thief's new album. On your criteria, it would have looked like this:

"I think the album is not prog, very poor, and too much like Radiohead".

If we allowed reviews of less than 100 words, believe me, many reviews would look exactly like this. Don't forget, many artists and professional media types visit our site. As far as the artists are concerned, if there is a critique, they at least deserve the respect and consideration of a thoughtful one. So, BTW, do visitors outside the industry.

  • Average rating: The classic calculation of the average but more weight is affected to the rating of progarchives.com collaborators and to rating with reviews.

    - Rating only: Weight = 1
    - Review by members : Weight = 10
    - Review by PA Collaborators : Weight = 20

  • so:

    1 Collaborator review+rating of 2 (x20) = 40

    4 ratings of 4 = 16
    5 ratings of 5 = 25

    For a total of 81

    Average = 81 / (20+9) = 2.793
