Voting for The European Perspective album of the year is now open - http://tinyurl.com/38qs2hp
This poll is run in conjunction with the Electric Garden festival. The results of the poll, announcing the top five British and European albums of 2010, will be given in the European Perspective that goes live over the Christmas weekend, which I'll be co-presenting with Ken Foster, the promoter of the festival. Ken has very kindly donated a ticket for the festival - featuring a great line-up including The Tangent, The Watch and Godsticks - as first prize in a draw that will take place during the show. All you have to do is vote - I'm hoping to include some more prizes too. Votes need to be in by 12th December - you need to vote for five albums, with a proportional representation style points system deciding the eventual top five. About The European Perspective The Amazing Wilf, cynic, mystic and occasional fool, takes you on a wonderful journey through the heady world of British and European progressive music. From the days of the sixties and seventies, when this stuff actually sold, through the New Wave Of British Progressive Rock in the mid-1980s, and bang up-to-date with the new blood. This music has never been more diverse or interesting, but in the competitive world of downloads and global marketing it's difficult for today's progressive acts to get the exposure they deserve and need to thrive. Wilf, therefore, concentrates on getting music by the small bands 'out there', while having a damn good time and a few laughs on the way. http://www.thedividingline.com/tep.html About Electric Garden The North West of England had a pioneering role in the growth and development of Progressive Rock music. From Jethro Tull to Jon Anderson of Yes, the area was a hotbed of music for both bands and fans alike. What's more, there is a massive latent audience starved of this pioneering and innovative musical genre. The Electric Garden festival will (for the first year) be a 2 day celebration of Progressive Rock in May 2011. Starting on the Friday night we'll have 8 of the best UK and Overseas acts to entertain you with an excellent sound system and convivial atmosphere. The first acts have been announced but more will be added so please sign up for our mailing list (top left) to be kept up-to-date about the latest news. Tickets are on sale at a hefty advance discount and will also entitle you to a free programme for the event. We hope you will buy in advance and help make our inaugaral festival a runaway success. |
