Yeah, I'm taking a computer programming for engineers next semester so I assume I'll learn something there, although from the description it seems to focus primarily on C++ and Fortran, which seems unnecessary? The problem with this is that this is an online course, and when I asked the professor a question she told me to look at the things posted on Blackboard, but the only things on there are the required assignment and a couple of very basic commands, since it's a broad lame ass intro class and you're not required to do it in any specific language, which is just as well since the materials are all from the mid '90s. But telling me the obvious way to calculate sine of something doesn't help me cobble together a program to run the quadratic equation, Cramer's rule, and screw around with complex numbers with some algebra. Ao I have to learn this entirely on my own. And the help files on the computers here are gone! |
I am pretty sure my college doesn't even teach C++ anymore.

Thanks, ZowieZiggy, for pushing a review I worked on really hard today nearly off the front page with your volley of reviews (many of them one star).

People don't use C++ anymore? So why does the description say Fortran, Pascal, and C++...

Based on people's description of the album, it doesn't look like my type. I like the album art, though.

I assume most PA users (except of course for the occasional visitors) have the homepage bookmarked with the "show last 50 reviews" version on, like I do

IIRC, there was one but they lost it for some reason. ![Confused Confused](smileys/smiley5.gif) All I can find is VB.Net, COBOL, Java and C#. FWIW, it's a CC. ![Tongue Tongue](smileys/smiley17.gif)

Just for that, I'm listening to the samples. ![Stern Smile Stern Smile](smileys/smiley22.gif)

Upon first listen, these two tracks remind me more than anything of Barenaked Ladies. I don't mind it, wouldn't be a favorite but it's definitely listenable.
