I was confused about what was going on until i read this so thanks. If a review comes up on the front page that i've reviewed my rating is shown plus the average and of course the reviewers rating. So three ratings show up.Interesting.

Max mentioned possibility of move to half-stars system and also his concerns about problems about it, side effects and other consequences.

But isn't it similar as when back in the old days, 0 stars were all changed to 1 stars ? Correct me if I'm wrong.

I would see it as that all current stars would remain the same, 1 star would be 1 star in new system, 4 would be 4 in new system, only new ratings will have half-stars.

It's the only possible way I can think about.

There's a point where "avant-garde" and "experimental" becomes "terrible" and "pointless,"

I'm with you because some people would have to go back and change their ratings and some people ignore the rules of rounding numbers. No offense intended to people who ignore the rules of rounding numbers, but it is irritating.
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...
