Hi, all! As the topic title says, I'm new here. By day I am a biologist, but in my spare time I'm a musician/DJ/music snob, which is why I'm here (obviously). I suppose I should say a little bit about my musical tastes. Of course I like most of the big, classic prog bands (Yes, King Crimson, Jethro Tull, Magma, etc.), but after that my tastes are pretty scattered. I like bands that take a punk/avant/noise approach to things- stuff like Guapo, Cardiacs, This Heat, 5uu's, etc. On the non-prog side of things, I like a lot of garage and psychedelic rock, punk and hardcore, 1950s and 1960s jazz, and songwritery-type stuff.

I'm looking forward to lots of exciting music discussion!

And while I am music snob, I do enjoy some terrible pop music once in a while. It's the aural equivalent of eating too much candy on Halloween! Awesome!
