At the end of Tangerine Dream's bio there appears an empty box with the word "logo" inside where actually used to be a logo it seems (pic's link: http://www.progarchives.com/img/TangerineDream1.jpg - page not found). Does anybody remember what was it?

I can't see the empty box and I didn't even know they had a logo.

Band 'logos' are something I utterly despise.
However, I was updating TANGERINE DREAM biography yesterday. I saw a hyperlink for the logo picture, but it was a dead link. I hadn't changed a single letter from the biography, just added the relevant hyperlinks, I also left that link for the logo, in respect for biography author. I don't have a clue how it should look like. (and frankly I don't care) |

I think it was a small version of this image, but I'm not sure 100%.

Oh, and I like band logos, with the exception of most metal logos. Here's my logo banner:

I'm not sure myself. I know it's okay that an artist should have an visual identity but...I really don't think a logo is the thing that should be a common denominator of an artist. Logos are for companies. Bands should be...free of that. A fan should be capable of recognizing a new album cover of his favourite's band. I know a consistent logo might look neatly and tidily when looking at the entire band's discography, especially if there are plenty of albums. But I don't like any aspect of music to be uniformed, not even the visual associated with the music. Perhaps my feeling about the logos is coming from the heavy metal logos. I'm not too fond of metal, but perhaps I would appreciate it more if the majority of the bands weren't so serious and stiff. Take a look at www.metal-archives.com, any artist's entry. In band information page, they have entries such are discography, line-up, genre, lyrical themes and...logo. They all look samey and childish. Every unsigned band incapable of making a half-baked demo recording have one. Like it's a necessity. |

TD don't have a logo that survived the years as far as I know. Anyway, I don't think logo's should be in the bio. M@X relies on text/html only bio's when working on the site layout.

It was this:
Which is a clip from their Dream Encores live album and never really been the TD "logo" - most strange - delete it.
