Also, Garion has a good point about Run DMC

I was about to label him a bust (though I figured Oakland had something to do with it)
Why the sudden explosion?
I know nothing of their O-Line, maybe its improved?

I'm going to go ahead and predict another 9-7 season out of the Steelers after watching that pathetic attempt at football.  Another week another 300 yards given up by the secondary on dump passes and quick hits (go ahead everyone, Patriots' offense us all day).  And it should be clear to even the biggest dolt in the Rooney family that it's well past time to FIRE BRUCE F#*&ING ARIANS.  Great play calling all first half there, Bruce, go empty set with slow developing plays every 3rd down against a team with no CBs that you know is going to send everyone.  How about trying a few more crazy screens that we never EVER get more than 3 yards out of and usually lose yardage on.

Time always wins.

Didn't see the game before the last few minutes, but are you saying the defense has been letting up?

If so, that would strengthen my prediction that they were playing above themselves, and would cool off as Ben returned, though the offense would explode.
Apparently that last part didn't happen?

Well, to address your last point first: I'm sure you remember my raging against offensive coordinator Bruce Arians all of last season.  He idiocy is complete and I don't know how he finds his way to the stadium each week let alone calls plays.  I completely expected (through my wishful fan hoping that it wouldn't be true) that the offense would take a step backward with Ben'sreturn simply because it reopens Bruce's whole moronic playbook.  As I said after last weeks near loss:  me and my grandfather could call every single play vbefore they ran it.  If we can do that then I'm 100% certain that the coaches on the opposing teams can as well.  Ben only has a chance when he calls his own plays or scrambles.  Ben's improvising is the only reason we won our last Super Bowl (considering the troubles the defense had that day).

Addressing the defense:  They only really "let up" once, and it cost them dearly: sending 3 and letting a 5 yard dump pass go for the 8 yards the Saints needed for a first and goal with about 3 minutes left.  The problem is that our CBs can't cover short routes (and barely cover deeper routes) and FS Ryan Clark's ability is limited to nothing more than lower his head and launcing himself after the WRs already caught the ball.  Aaron Smith's injury slows our pass rush, as well, which is murder with the speed NFL offenses operate.

Time always wins.

Ah, yeah losing Smith is obviously a huge blow.

And most Steelers fans I've known seem to want Arians head on a plate

Most of his problems was because he is not healthy.   Lots of Hamstring issues nothing major really like a knee or an ankle. It was a hamstring issue that kept him out of 2 games this year.  Look at the guy though he is huge and fast. He is bigger than most safeties out there.  As for the improvement for the Raiders it is just consistency, much better Oline and QB play and the defense being unshackled by AL Davis  to be allowed to be  aggressive and apply pressure when needed.   I am not saying they are the next coming but after the last 7 years this looks to be a turn around not just another mirage.  We have beaten San Diego and Denver and quite honestly with a few better breaks against Arizona and SF could be 6-2.

Well I certainly did not expect the Saints to beat the Steelers.....As banged up as the Saints are they pulled that one out in pretty good fashion. Drew was back to some better form.......receivers are still suffering from all thumbs.
Running game stinks......I'd sure like to see Julius Jones get it going. Drew was 34-44 passing......that's more like it!

As far as Favre goes........every week is getting uglier and uglier....."quit while ur ahead..." he should have paid attention. I also bet had he retired the current scandal he is in would never have reared its ugly head...

Someone send Bret Favre an email and let him know the season is almost 1/2 over......

So are the Cowboys getting the 1st pick next year? So much for the Cowboys hosting their own Super Bowl.

Raiders win two in a row for the first time in 3 years!  And convincingly.  They held a 4-2 Seattle team to 160 yards of offense while racking up over 500 for the second week in a row.  DMac is unbelievable! In 5 games he has 668 yards on 124 rushes.  That is a 5.4 per carry avg and 111 per game.  All that considering the game he was hurt in he only had 47 yards on 12 carried.

Seahawks apparently forgot they had a game to play today.  Gotta say, Raiders are a different team this year.

Even with that horrendous performance by the Seahawks....they are still in 1st place in the NFC West.

The Redskins looked a lot like the Lions yesterday and as a result the Lions beat them for the second year in a row.

I was wondering what was going to happen for those post game comments.  Just when people finished shaking the moths out of their old Moss Vikings jerseys too. LOL

^ The NFL is stoopid with all their rules........basically from what I understand he was fined $25k for not talking to the media?
Then said becasue of this fine he was not gonna answer anymore questions for the rest of the season?

Sounds petty on the NFL part.

Sounds stupid on Moss' part. It's standard policy for the NFL to require players to speak to the media; it's just part of the job.

He shouldn't be such a headcase.

EDIT: The Vikings are just falling apart. They give up a 3rd round pick for 2 losses worth of production. What a pathetic move.
