Wins?!?? We're on the third replay of Genesis v. Yes already. It's been very fair; they have both won, lost and drawn. Can't remember if there is an Asia v. GTR poll... that could be funny.

Once we knew what we were looking for, tracking down and dealing with the "persons" responsible for cheating on the GY!BE vs Rush poll was relatively simple. The accounts in question have been suspended and the "people" behind them given permabans that includes blocking of the IP addresses of the two ISPs "they" used.
Since this poll was created and has been running while we have been monitoring the site activity very closely, ehere is no similar evidence for cheating in this poll. That's not to say there hasn't been any, it's just we haven't seen it. |
As I would say in my language, Chapeau bas.

I can't understand why somebody should cheat on a poll

I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

Without that singer they are probably better, but the studio album is very poor at all levels. I was excited when I knew about that release and I've been probably one of the first purchasers. I've rarely been so disappointed.
Of course there's people who doesn't like Magma. I don't like (too much) Zappa and I've read posts of people saying that Pink Floyd's Animals is a poor album.
The world is nice because it's various and sometimes it's just question of giving an album one more try.
-------------- But I've listened to GTR a lot of times and at every new listen it's worse ------------------

It's a so stupid thing...I can understand the fanboy factor when speaking of Take That, Blue or Tokio Hotel. I'm not expecting a behaviour like this from people who listens to Rush or to prog in general. I don't think we are people who cries at concerts like the Beatles' groupies in the 60s or Duran's in the 80s. A person who writes even a single review should write what he thinks it's true, so why cheating in a poll?
If somebody has been banned for this reason, his/her reviews should be removed from the site as well.

Agree. Someone who cheats in a poll would bias his reviews. Even if I consider the 'fanboy factor' to be a stupid thing (just like you), I think he's present everywhere. When Yes were beated by Genesis, I was thrilled :D but to be thrilled is a thing, to cheat is an other thing, of course. By the way, I do not consider myself a fanboy.

Maybe because "When the Heart Rules the Mind" seems Europe's "The final Countdown"?

However, please excuse me for having gone out of the poll subject.
What if Franco Mussida joins Hackett and Howe ?

Okay, I'm going off to school. If one band is three votes higher than the other, anyone can announce the winner.
