I have created three Mafia games that all should provide unique and really fun experiences to follow the current introductory Prog Mafia game that is currently occurring. Look at all three Mafia games and vote for which one you would be most willing to play next! If you have questions, comments, or any concerns, please voice them here; they are encouraged.

Note: I reserve the right to alter the games at any time if necessary. However, the integrity of each game will remain and I doubt there will be any changes at all.

Electronic Mafia

The 15th annual Electronic Musicians Convention (EMC) takes place this weekend and all of the prospective musicians have gathered at a major train station in Paris, France to take the Trans-Europe Express to Berlin for the convention. Each artist/band has their own room aboard the lavish and sophisticated train’s interior for the entirety of the journey. Each room has its own bed, television, and there are extravagant buffets awaiting the musicians for each meal every day in the dining cars.

Everyone was looking forward to the voyage and the prospect of yet another meeting to discuss musical matters and to form groups of jamming sessions in one of Berlin’s premiere auditoriums.

Little did they know what awaited them as they boarded the express…

Civvies  (18)

·         Aphex Twin – Can use his pseudonyms to hide from potential killers. He has one automatic lynch protection and one automatic night protection.

·         James Murphy – Looks after all of the electronic bands. Every time one of the groups is eliminated, he gains a kill to be used the subsequent night period.

·         Edgar Froese – If Klaus Schulze dies, he gains permanent lynch protection.

·         Klaus Schulze – If Edgar Froese dies, he gains permanent night protection.

·         Jean-Michel Jarre – Can use a role check every night to find out the role of any player.

·         Squarepusher – Can use a role block on any player of his choice each night by pushing giant squares in front of them.

Daft Punk

·         Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo – Can choose to start a rave each night or not. If there is a rave, then two randomly-selected individuals will not show up the following day, removing them from the lynch options. Has BTSC with Thomas Bangalter.

·         Thomas Bangalter – Has BTSC with Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo.

Orbital

·         Phil Hartnoll – Can choose one player each night to protect from any nightkill targeting. Has BTSC with Paul Hartnoll.

Boards of Canada

·         Mike Sandison – If Mike Sandison is lynched, there will be two nights. If he is nightkilled, there will be two days. Has BTSC with Marcus Eoin.

·         Marcus Eoin – Has BTSC with Mike Sandison.

Autechre

·         Sean Booth – Searches for the Heimcomputer every night. If he finds it, he can attempt to hack it and a coin is flipped. If the coin flips heads, the hack is successful and the Heimcomputer self-destructs. If the coin flips tails, the hack fails. Has BTSC with Rob Brown.

·         Rob Brown – Has BTSC with Sean Booth.

The Chemical Brothers

·         Tom Rowlands – Searches for civvies with no band each night. If the search is successful, then the target civvie joins the Chemical Brothers and gains BTSC with the band. Only one successful recruit is permitted. Has BTSC with Ed Simons.

·         Ed Simons – Has BTSC with Tom Rowlands.

Röyksopp

·         Torbjørn Brundtland – Can switch the lynch results to another player of his choice only twice in the game. He can also stop one lynch from happening. Has BTSC with Svein Berge.

·         Svein Berge – Has BTSC with Torbjørn Brundtland.

Kraftwerk (7)

·         Ralf Hütter – In charge of this team’s nightly kill. Kills every night. After his kill has been executed, the role of his victim becomes known to him. Once he dies (or if he is role blocked), Florian Schneider takes care of both of Ralf’s powers. If both Ralf and Florian die, then the ability to role check the victim goes away and the kill power is passed to someone else on the team.

·         Florian Schneider – Works on the Heimcomputer every night. For each night that Florian is alive, the Heimcomputer gains one power level. Takes over Ralf Hütter’s duties in case of emergency.

·         Karl Bartos – Can use a role block on any player of his choice each night.

·         Wolfgang Flür – Can silence one player each night, preventing them from being able to speak the entire subsequent day period.

·         The Man Machine – Challenges one player every night. The Man Machine and his opponent each role dice; the Man Machine’s roll starts with an automatic +3. If the Man Machine wins, the opponent must vote for whom the Man Machine chooses the subsequent day and not make it apparent. If the Man Machine loses, it must vote for whom the opponent chooses the subsequent day and not make it apparent.

·         Pocket Calculator Operator – Spends each lynch period keeping track of all the votes. For every individual that does not vote, the operator can vote in their place for the person of his choice. The operator’s choices will not be made public.

·         Heimcomputer – Gains a power level each night that Florian is alive. It can choose to use any of its capabilities, as long as it has enough power levels for the option. Once power levels have been used, the Heimcomputer’s power capability is reduced by the amount of the chosen capability. The Heimcomputer can store a maximum of 5 power levels.

o   Capabilities:

§  Power Level 1: Role check

§  Power Level 2: Binary night post

§  Power Level 3: Additional nightkill

§  Power Level 4: Recruit

§  Power Level 5: Resurrection

Avant-Garde Mafia

It’s Mafia like you’ve never seen it before: Avant-Garde style. Take everything you knew about Mafia and throw it out the window, but before you do, make sure you shred on a saxophone for 30 minutes first.

There are no civvies. There are no baddies. There are no independent players. There are only recruiters and the unrecruited. The game begins with a large pool of unrecruited players who have no role and recruiters representing different teams. Each team battles for dominance as they try to prove that they are the masters of the art of Avant-Garde by recruiting players and knocking out their opponents.

The roles are Avant-Garde. The rules are Avant-Garde. Your sanity will be tested.

Features appearances by Captain Beefheart, Mike Patton, Fred Frith, and others.

Specific role information is not to be disclosed at this time.

Frank Zappa Mafia

The Central Scrutinizer is back! And he has come to obliterate all traces that Frank Zappa has left in the totality of existence. He plans to accomplish this by eliminating the existence of a storage unit, contained in a fictional 4th dimension, a location where all of Zappa’s creations run free: Studio Z. He has brought 3 other lackeys with him to do his dirty work, but he’s not the only one planning to try to destroy the impact on music that Zappa has created.  A team of other creations, fronted by the infamous Dental Floss Tycoon, are going to accomplish the same task, blissfully unaware that it was Zappa himself that gave them initial life.

Meanwhile, desperate for other members in his church, the First Church of Appliantology, L. Ron Hoover decides it would be a great time for recruiting…

Only you can keep the spirit of Zappa alive in this tribute Mafia game.

Civvies (16)

·         Joe – Searches for L. Ron Hoover every night. If he finds him before L. Ron Hoover or the Central Scrutinizer find Joe, then Joe cannot be recruited or nightkilled. Has BTSC with Sy Borg.

·         Sy Borg – If Joe dies, Sy Borg dies. Has BTSC with Joe.

·         Uncle Remus – Can choose one player each night to protect from any nightkill targeting.

·         Flower Punk – Can conduct a protest three times throughout the game, pardoning the lynch.

·         Willie the Pimp – Searches for Suzy Creamcheese, Valley Girl, or Dinah Moe-Humm each night. If he finds one of them, he gains BTSC with them and continues to search for the others. If he manages to successfully find all three, then the group gains a nightkill to be used the subsequent night.

·         Suzy Creamcheese – Cannot be lynched.

·         Cletus Awreetus-Awrightus – Tries to ask a question to one player of his choice every night, but insanifies the victim instead.

·         Mr. Green Genes – Has BTSC with his son.

·         Son of Mr. Green Genes – Has BTSC with his father.

·         Andy – Searches for anything good inside any player of his choice each night through means of a role check.

·         Greggery Peccary – Journeys on strange adventures each night. Depending on what he rolls, he returns with a different discovery.

·         Fido – Can use a role block on any player of his choice each night.

·         Father O’Blivion – Searches for jailbirds to give pancakes every night. If he finds one, then the jailbird is released from jail. Has BTSC with St. Alfonzo.

·         St. Alfonzo – Has BTSC with Father O’Blivion.

·         Dinah Moe-Humm – Vanilla role.

·         Valley Girl – Vanilla role.

·         The Brain Police – Chooses one player every night to send to jail and rolls dice. If he rolls doubles, the individual goes to jail.

·         Bald-Headed John – If there are any individuals in jail, John chooses one of them each night to try to kill with an iron sausage and flips a coin. If heads, the victim dies. If tails, the iron sausage was unsuccessful.

·         The Slime – Can use a role block on any player of its choice each night.

Electronic. The mere thought of Jean-Michel Jarre getting lynched fills my heart with joy.

I don't love Oxygene (except the cover art) but I do like it.  Haven't heard Equinoxe.
