Libertarianism means freedom for me, not freedom for you. Duh?

Shut up troll.

Hey! I have a freedom of speech to defend here!

By the way, as Llama said, when you write "PA" I think you're talking about this website and not your state...

I'm still reading Anthem (I know it's quite short but I've had little timeEmbarrassed). What do people here think of Atlas Shrugged? It's like 1000 pages with minuscule letters, so I really need people saying is not only politically-accurate (for your ideas at least) but also entertaining (again, 1000 pages!) and I could be reading it.

I don't know that I'd call Atlas Shrugged "entertaining"...maybe start with the Fountainhead instead?

I don't know that you need 1000+ pages to be told communism is bad.

I know communism is bad. But I liked some of the ideals of libertarianism. SOME. I'm also enjoying Anthem. In a way it resembles Orwell's 1984. This kind of dystopic books are good at painting horrible scenarios. But it's all entertainment in the end. If I wanted a deeper look at Rand's views, I would instead read her more theoretical books...

Read The Fountainhead first is my recommendation.

I would look at it as a non-fiction book. I mean it's fiction, but it's fiction in the way Galileo's Dialogue Concerning the Two Chief World Systems is fiction.

Personally in non-fiction I'm entertained by the information/ideas rather than the story.

I don't want to be too progressive. I need to stay well rounded. So I do the progressive music and anti-progressive political philosophy.

From this description I would say no it's not worth your time.

Speaking of Rand. Murray Rothbard, former Randian, wrote a one act play mocking Ayn Rand and her inner circle's quasi-religious behavior and lack of human qualities.

It's quite humorous if you know Rand.

Rand wrote about neat things, but I hardly look to her for my politics or morality.

Her writings on Capitalism are fantastic for the most part.

Or Nevada?

Yeah I am a chump, should just enter politics, give up all my ideals and morals and legally live off the taxpayer dollar.
