It's stand alone, although built around the Fallout 3 architecture I think. If it helps, the NV story expands on the stories from Fallout 1 and 2 although doesn't touch on anything from Fallout 3. As I wasn't playing it seriously, more just trying it out, I didn't really pay any attention to the story.

So no transference of gear or anything from Fallout 3? Nope. I guess it's useful though if I play Fallout 3 first? Or is it completely new in story as well?
Completely new story AFAIK. As I said, expands on some things left from FO1/2, although I don't believe there's any recurring characters/story line elements from FO3.

Ah, I need to play Fallout and Fallout 2 then. I've played the first game but never got that far and I have the second one as well.
I love old Isometric games much more, it seems.

I'm trying to decide if that was a slight at me by Equality over in the book thread... hmm. I'll ignore it if that's the case.

Seeya Joel.
James, if the story is a bit predictable, the characters are phenomenal over pretty much everything in the game. And most of the sidequests are far more entertaining than the main one anyways.

I have a small migraine myself. At least my stomachache has been eliminated for the most part.

This is a really cool picture, but it's a picture of something not-so-cool.
