There will be plenty here too - that's why I changed around my "going home schedule" so I could be here this Halloween.

Oh James, I didn't tell you yet...I've seen PSG twice more in the last 4 days, and both times she acted as if she hoped I didn't see her.  Clearly I made a great first impression. LOL

You saw her again? LOL

Yeah, today on my way home from Astro.  Actually I almost literally ran into her, I wasn't paying attention to where I was walking and she was walking along with her class going somewhere.  Our paths were perpendicular to each other, and I looked up just in time to perform some ninja-worthy maneuvers to avoid running into people. LOL

As I said, she has a boyfriend.

I saw a whole group of girls in town earlier taking photos of stuff... I was going to offer my services but I didn't in the end.

If you literally run into her she can't pretend she didn't see you. LOL Of course running into your beard is probably lethal.

If I could wax my beard up more than I currently do, it'd be like a Stingray and then I could hurt people with it.  Yey!

James, how is Elixirs?  I found it in a used CD store yesterday (in the Jazz section, oddly enough) and picked it up.

Listen to it and find out.

It's not as wonderful as either Five Suns or Black Oni because it's stylistically different.  Plus it features vocals.  The best track (although maybe you'll find it the worst because it sounds more like their older material) would be King Lindorm.

But it's good.  You should like it.

And it's not even close to being Jazz. LOL

I know that, but I found it there either way.  There was also a Secret Chiefs 3 album in the World Music section which I was going to buy, but when they brought the disc out from behind the counter it had a big chunk missing, so I said no to that one, unfortunately.

I'm not overkeen on that whole Psyche/Space Prog stuff, so I don't think I'd enjoy Secret Chiefs 3.

Erm, are we thinking of the same Secret Chiefs 3?  The one I know isn't exactly space/psych.

There's only one Secret Chiefs 3... I am sure they were Space Prog... especially as you found them in World Music.

Gosh, I've not heard this album in ages and it's more amazing already than I ever remember it to be.  Oooooh.

In contrast to James, I think it's their best album

No, they're not Space, on the contrary they're RIO/Avant.  http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=2088

Black Oni is their best album.  Full stop.  It's my third favourite album of all time.

Elixirs may turn out to be better than Five Suns with further listens though.

Jon listen to it already.  The opening of Jeweled Turtle is incredible.  Lovely and dark too.  Mmm.

It's just there's a few lesser tracks in the middle of the album, from what I can remember.  Maybe it'll hit me more this time.

I'll listen to it eventually, now I've been distracted by SC3 albums available to listen to on myspace.

yeah, one weak track in the middle, the rest is splendid

at times it almost sounds like Espers playing zeuhl.

I've just realised I can hear the Black Oni theme on Jeweled Turtle.  It is part 3 of the Triptych after all, so it'd make sense to sort of make parts of it reminiscent of the previous two albums.

But I don't think you've ever listened to SC3 since you were sure they're a Psych/Space band when in reality they're a Mr. Bungle offshoot who plays some sort of techno/metal/ethnic/avant/bizarre mixture.
