Tom's a red-hot bassist (though he won't like me using the word "red" to describe him Wink)

Sorry.
I put it in the musicians forum but that has been pretty dead.
I just thought some more non-musician prog fans would like to see it.

My bad.

Don't worry the original thread link will stay in the main Prog Lounge for 24 hrs at least but the thread will be here.

I have to ask: how does one chose freewill and how is that ever a purpose that would be clear?

And since you did a cover, you are required to answer.

Also, how did you chose to cover Freewill?

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

OK.

One chooses Freewill by looking at the collection of Rush cd's and asking oneself, "Hmmmmmmmm............ what song next?" And then I selected the Permanent Waves album and chose Freewill as the song to record. Once I started the tune, it was very clear.Wink

Freewill is one of my favorite Rush songs. I like the solo section and Neil's drumming is the thing in that part that I like the most. The three hi-hat accents in the middle are just perfection against a bass line like that. For me at least. It has a good flow.

So you weren't forced to choose Freewill?
