Once, I slept over 48 hours. But, nowadays, thanks to coffee, anguish, depression, I can sleep 5 hours per night before going to work (but the next day, I look like I have the worst hangover of my life)

Some years ago, a client was captured by the tyranny for expressing his ideas, so I went to stay with him in order to avoid any "accident", normally we are allowed to take turns with our assistants, but the officer in charge said that only a registered lawyer could stay.

I asked a couple of friends, but none of them wanted to confront the government, so I had to stay 38 hours awaken, just when I was falling asleep, the lawyers of an association dedicated to protect innocent people sent me a replacement and then start sending more lawyers to take 6 hours turns.

But the guy had to recognize the new lawyers officially before every turn.

I slept 12 hours after that and still felt tired.

I run away from home a long time ago and roamed on the streets of the city for about 4 days if I recall well until getting some proper sleep.

36 hours

(crap which one do I pick!?)

And I did that, as with all my long stay ups, WITHOUT caffeine or anything.

Probably not more than 36, I'd say. And that was back in college. Couldn't do it now.

I've had more than my share of sleepless nights.  Not by choice either - I have insomnia occasionally and it's no picnic.

I've had involuntary nights as well, but usually they don't last as long as the times I just stay up.  As you say though, they're no picnic.

A few years ago I played one of the strategic computer games more than 2 days without sleep. Meanwhile, I have forgotten, which game it was, and it did not happen again, luckily! Embarrassed

Over 48.  I woke up early, drove to a friends apartment 2 hrs away, hung out there all night and didn't sleep for some reason.  Then I drove back home the next morning and hung out with some people all day.  Towards the end of this night I was talked into going on an ......lets just say adventure.. with a friend.  You know, the kind of adventures that last between 10 and 12 hours, make things more interesting, make music absolutely dominant,  and keep you awake for a long time.  The sleep after that was perhaps the best sleep ever.

And eating wise, I definitely go through days where I look back and realise I didn't eat anything.  I could definitely go two days without food.

24-36.

It was like a day and some hours. I'm pretty sure I've never actually hit 36 hours.

Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive

I drew a 5:00 AM to 6:00 PM the next day shift last weekend, which I suppose is 37 hours.  Fortunately the last 8 hours involved beer and football and the work part was over and done.  At my age I can't do these too often.

Can you tell me where we're headin'?
Lincoln County Road or Armageddon.

There is nothing more depressing than seeing night turn to day after a sleepless night spent in bed.
